Amitabha Stupa in Sedona
The Amitabha Stupa in Sedona was built on 14 acres of sacred land at the foot of both Chimney Rock and Capital Butte (also known as Thunder Mountain). The famous feng shui master Lillian Too visited Sedona to advise the Buddhist group building the stupa on the geomancy of the land. It turned out that the land that had been purchased 3 years prior to the consultation was in fact a perfect feng shui opportunity for building a holy place.
The Tibetan master Sangnag Rinpoche came to oversee the building of the stupa according to scriptural guidelines and the Sedona community participated in supporting its creation. It now serves as a place of pilgrimage for the local residents, as well as tourists from all over the world.
The Stupa is open to the public free of charge and the view from the height of this land is spectacular. Many of the Sedona hotels and B&B’s in Sedona are within walking distance of the Stupa land, so it is easy to take it in.
When you take your Sedona vacation, this is a must see spot!
